Starring Alex Pettyfer (co-starring with Vanessa Hudgens in Beastly), Dianna Agron (whom most of you will recognize as Quinn from Glee), and Hawaii-born actor Timothy Olyphant, the movie focuses on "Number Four" of Nine extraordinary beings who fled their planet's destruction and are being hunted (in numeric order) by the deadly enemy responsible. Three are dead...He's next!

A fun, action-packed love story. The bad guys were scary (but then again, I'm just a big scaredy-cat)! My husband gives it 1 Pisupo for being 'another Twilight movie'. It gets 4 Pisupos from me;-)

Wow! We almost had our first ZERO pisupo movie! If it weren't featuring Crixus from Spartacus, and a really big Samoan (Sam Elia? don't know his name), it wouldn't earn it's single can! I mean, I respect low-budget, likely-independent movies, but it doesn't have to be corny also!

Copper Theft?

Front page news today was the story of the alleged attempt to steal copper from an American Samoa Power Authority (ASPA) underground switch which caused a power outage last week Thursday. Pictured above is the cut wire. Also found on the scene was the wiring cabinet lock that was broken off as well as a hacksaw. The outage lasted for 3 hours and affected parts of the town area including the LBJ hospital.

This is the first time copper theft, or the attempt of it, has occured on-island. Three questions immediately come to mind after reading about this though.

1. Was it really an attempt to steal copper?
2. Could it have been possible sabotage from an outraged ASPA customer? I mean, who doesn't hate ASPA these days with the outrageous electricity costs?
3. Or is it simply an ASPA cover up?? (Did I really just say that out loud?)

Wow... never knew we had snakes in Samoa! Fortunate for us, however, we only have the Pacific Boa which is native and not dangerous - whew! Sightings of this snake is rare, but apparently someone had come across one last week and killed it. Here is the story on Talanei.

One of Samoa's delicacies, the pisupo (pee-sue-poh), commonly known as Corned Beef, is a staple in every Samoan kitchen. It is such a delight that a Samoan songwriter compared his sweetheart to a can of pisupo, amongst other foods, in one of his songs. So good that we decided to use it in our movie ratings even! The long awaited emergency alarm system was installed and tested last week. Pictured above is one of the many siren poles that were installed throughout the island. Initial reports were disappointing, with claims from the public that the sirens could not be heard. I myself didn't hear a thing. Hopefully adjustments can be made before the next disaster hits!
